Application Process for New Scholars
Applications are now open for classes 2031 – 2032.
The application for new scholars opens January 5, 2026 and closes March 31, 2026.
During the application period, you will find a link to the application below. Click the link below to start your application and be sure to read all instructions carefully. You can use the “Save and Resume” feature to continue later. Note: Uploaded documents are not saved when you use “Save and Resume,” so only upload your documents when you are ready to submit your complete application.
The following documents are required for your application to be considered complete:
- Three (3) letters of recommendation must be submitted. Instructions regarding letters of recommendation are outlined in the application.
- New applicants are also required to write a 500-word essay. Your essay can be typed directly into the application or you can copy and paste your essay from a word document directly into the application.
Additional Required Forms After Acceptance
Scholars who are accepted into the program will be required to complete additional forms. These forms will be distributed and explained at the Mandatory Parent/Scholar Orientation. Completion of all required forms is necessary to fully enroll in the Sutton Scholars program.
Application for Returning Scholars
The Returning Scholar Application is open January 5, 2026 – February 28, 2026.
This application is designed for current Sutton Scholars who wish to continue in the program for the upcoming year. Since returning scholars have already demonstrated their commitment, this application is shorter and does not require essays or recommendation letters.

Returning scholars will be asked to confirm updated information and reaffirm their commitment to full participation in the Sutton Scholars program.
